AT&T Contributes $50,000 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief to Support Joplin Storm Relief and Care

JOPLIN, Mo., May 24, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The AT&T Foundationtoday announced a $50,000 grant to the Greater Ozarks RegionalChapter of the American Red Cross to support storm relief efforts inJoplin. The funds will be presented to the local chapter to helprestoration and relief efforts that will benefit victims of thesevere weather that affected the Joplin community.

"Missourians are accustomed to helping their neighbors when theneed arises, and AT&T has a long history of being a good neighbor,"said John Sondag, AT&T Missouri president. "Our thoughts are withthe many families who are affected by the recent tornado, and we arepleased to support the American Red Cross as it responds to thiscrisis in this important community and in our state."

The funds will be used by Red Cross disaster workers to providefood, shelter, emotional assistance and basic supplies toindividuals and families affected by recent storms and tornadoes.
